At the time, her lessons didn't seem important. I had all the things on my mind. I would learn the hard way.

No matter how hard I tried, I could never catch her. She was like a torpedo through the water.

I think swimming helped her relax. It helped her calm her mind.

Sometimes I would just watch her do her laps. Other times I would join her.

Her and my late mother had practically raised me in the water. It was second nature to us.

It was like a duckling following his mother duck. I would follow her to the ends of the earth if I had to.
